Erector Spinae

The erector spinae is a group of muscles and tendons which are responsible for many directions of movement of the spine and neck.

The erector spinae is recruited during extension of the spine, and is therefore targeted with exercises such as supermans, back extensions and deadlifts.

The muscle group is important for injury prevention. When strengthened and developed, the erector spinae will provide excellent protection to the lumber region.
