The teres minor is one of the rotator cuff muscles, along with infraspinatus, subscapularis and subraspinatus. Teres minor means 'teres' - rounded, and 'minor' - small.
Involvement of the teres minor is present during some shoulder actions, and also for stability.
Strengthening of the rotator cuff muscles is important for injury prevention.
