This week we were lucky enough to receive a tub of Multipower D-FINE to review on behalf of our readers. FitnessUncovered have already reviewed a handful of Multipower products, and we will continue to do so for another few weeks. We hope our readers find our review helpful, and we again assure you that the review is completely independent and honest. As I have said previously, please also look online for other reviews regarding this product, and ask on forums, for a fully balanced outlook on the positive and negatives of this product compared to others on the market.

Multipower D-FINE protein
D-FINE is a whey protein isolate product. Usually there are two choices when it comes to whey protein; either whey protein concentrate, or whey protein isolate. Many protein shakes contain a mixture of the two. Isolate is said to superior to whey concentrate due to its higher protein content and reduced levels of carbohydrates and fat, it is however more expensive.
The benefits of D-FINE are said to be (taken from the Multipower web site):
• “Helps buffer the catabolic phase” (catabolic in this sense means muscle break down)
• “Contains 50% more free amino acids than WHO (World Health Organisation) reference protein”
• “Carb-reduced to improve amino acid metabolisation during the fat burning phase after training”
• “24g of protein per 30g serving”
• “Only 2g of carbs per serving”
• “Less than 0.5g of fat per serving ”
D-FINE is a protein drink which would be ideal post workout due to its fast absorption rate, like other whey based supplement shakes. D-FINE, being whey isolate based, has a low level of fat and carbohydrates per serving, yet has a high level of quality protein.
One 700g tub offers 23 servings (24g protein per 30g serving).
D-FINE, according to the Multipower web site, is nut free, sugar free, wheat free, and suitable for vegetarians.
I used slightly more than it states on the tub and mixed 50g of D-FINE with 200ml of water. I found this ratio to be pleasant in terms of taste and consistency. I was given the strawberry flavour which was easy to consume, yet had a subtle hint of an aftertaste you sometimes associate with protein shakes. The drink is very palatable however, and I could certainly use the supplement on a long term basis as part of my dietary plan.
In conclusion, D-FINE is a quality whey protein supplement which would be ideal either first thing in the morning, or directly after a workout. The reader is encouraged to look at similar products available, however, to compare prices.
